The Commanding officer 105 Composite Group of the Nigerian Airforce Maiduguri Air Commodore C.O Olayera led other Senior officers of the Command on a courtesy visit to the National Center for the Control of Small Arms and his Light Weapons North East Zonal Centre Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

They were received by the Zonal Coordinator of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons Rear Admiral SA Mohammed (Rtd).

In his remark,the Commanding officer who took over in July,2023 said there is need to
pay a Courtesy call in other to familiarize himself with the center for effective collaboration in other to achieve the National
Security.

The Commanding officer show up his maximum readiness to cooperate with the Centre in achieving a common goal and the visit was an opportunity for both parties to discuss areas of collaboration that will sustain the tempo command and the centre.

Responding, The Zonal Coordinator of the Centre, Rear Admiral S.A Mohammed (Rtd) assured the Commanding officer of the Center’s maximum cooperation to share intelligence among the agencies.

He promised to collaborate with the Command to Mop-up all the Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons in the North East Region and the country at large.

The Zonal Coordinator of the Centre Rear Admiral S.A Mohammed (Rtd) has remain steadfast in ensuring that the North East region is reap off the current Security the Challenges.

Since assumption of office as the coordinator of the center,he has been committed through Stakeholders engagements to ensure the Peace and stability of the region.

According to him,Controlling the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons is the key in archiving peace and dialogue as no one is ready to fight with hands.

Therefore, Small arms and light weapons are causing serious loss of life and all sort of crimes that you can think of from Boko haram, Banditry, kidnapping and other Criminal gangs can be mitigated through this effective collaboration. They said.

The National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS) has announced the suspension of its national President Comr. Auwal Gambo Salisu with immediate effect due alleged blackmail, bribery, corruption and money laundering. In a letter signed by the Rt. Hon. Abdulaziz Maina Isa , the speaker of the Yobe State Students Representatives Assembly and the clerk of the Assembly Comrade Yusuf Lusa (CP) and made available to newsmen in Damaturu. Ruba SAN Lead Counsel for the Petitioners The Petitioners approached the tribunal challenging the declaration of Dachungyang Pam Mwadtkom or 2nd Respondent by INEC (1st Respondent) as the winner of the rerun election. The main ground upon which the petition is predicated is that the 2nd Respondent as of the time of the election, was not qualified to contest the election having allegedly presented a forged certificate to 1st Respondent (INEC).
