10th Speakership: Northern Group Rally Round Behind South East.

In a press briefing in Bauchi on Saturday 29th April, 2023  ahead of the June Inauguration and election of the presiding officers of the 10th House Of Representatives and Members elect,Federal Republic Of Nigeria.The Northern Youth Concern for Good Governance in collaboration with the civil society organizations said the spokesperson of the 9th assembly and member representing Bende of  Federal Constituency of Abia State.

He call for needed support from leaders, stakeholders, members elect and Nigerians to unite and move the country forward, adding that Kalu has the capacity, capability, experience and political sagacity to ensure that the 10th assembly legislation will be for the best interest of the country.


According to the Convener of the  Coordinator of the group Comrade Hassan A. Ahmed Nigeria is passing through a trying moment, and the time is rife for everyone to support the aspiration of Hon. Benjamin Kalu speakership aspiration and president elect to move Nigeria forward.

One of the greatest challenges confronting our nation is leadership. At every level of development local, state or federal government, a reliable, well- informed leader is urgently needed.Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu is an extra ordinary outspoken spokesperson  of the 9th assembly is the leader APC needs at the moment.Available data show that Kalu is an outstanding personality who has the capacity to properly lead and manage the Affairs of the 10th assembly.

APC will be in safe hands if he emerges as the next speaker of the house of reps. We find him very suitable to hold this important position. We can assure you that his honest intention to vie for the office has resulted in enormous increase in the number of people who have volunteered to join our campaign organization. Because he is very qualified.

“We are calling on well-meaning party faithful, Progressive Governors, Members elect across the party lines to support Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu as the speaker of the 10th assembly ahead of the June Inauguration/election of the presiding officers of the 10th assembly who will pilot the affiars of the house in the next four years. He is well known as an efficient, result driven Member. He is an exceptional man who deserves recognition and respect.

“He recorded huge successes as member representing Bende federal constituency of Abia state in the areas of human capital development, provision of quality and affordable education to his constituents teeming youths and in the area of health care system and many more. 

If elected as the speaker, he will ensure that the legislation under his watch will be the best interest to Nigerians who can no longer afford to hear excuses for not being able to provide direction for the well-being and progress, of the country in delivering the campaign promises of the party,” he said.

Comr. Auwal Suspended from office as National President,Yobe State Students.

The National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS) has announced the suspension of its national President Comr. Auwal Gambo Salisu with immediate effect due alleged blackmail, bribery, corruption and money laundering. In a letter signed by the Rt. Hon. Abdulaziz Maina Isa , the speaker of the Yobe State Students Representatives Assembly and the clerk of the Assembly Comrade Yusuf Lusa (CP) and made available to newsmen in Damaturu. The suspension has the endorsement of the two third majority of the members of the Students Representatives Assembly, National Union of Yobe State Students NUYOSS. By: John Ephraim The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal holding at Bauchi in the matter of rerun election into the office of senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for Plateau North Senatorial District held on 3rd February, 2024 on Friday, reserved judgement in the petition filed by Yakub Muhammad Shafiu and his NNPP against INEC, Dachungyang Pam Mwadtkom, ADP. Yakubu H. Ruba SAN Lead Counsel for the Petitioners The Petitioners approached the tribunal challenging the declaration of Dachungyang Pam Mwadtkom or 2nd Respondent by INEC (1st Respondent) as the winner of the rerun election. The main ground upon which the petition is predicated is that the 2nd Respondent as of the time of the election, was not qualified to contest the election having allegedly presented a forged certificate to 1st Respondent (INEC). The Petitioners are alleging that the 2nd Respondent in Form EC9 deposed that he obtained FSLC in 1975 and SSCE in 1982.
