2023: Why Barden Gabas remain a viable option for Bauchi Federal Constituency. By: Sani Abdullahi.

Politics, Government and Governance in Nigeria is incomplete without mentioning Bauchin Yakubu in our national archives of its rational process of selecting of those they want to put in the position of authority. It is also a state has produced the nation first prime minister and the only African golden voice who's richness in language and his polished English placed him ahead of all and sundry during the first Republic. Bauchi State is the first to distroyed Political godfatherism in the entire Political arena of Nigeria and subsequently paved way for clean electoral process when the fought the mighty Mu'azu and his Political machineries. 

Same scenario repeated itself after Mallam Isa Yuguda second tenure runs out in 2015 and subsequently the the emergence of the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed. To cut it short , almost if not all of Bauchi born politicians are in one way or the other benificiaries of the goodwill of Bauchi State electorates.All those who lost woefully while in PDP in 2007 and 2015 despite their power machineries should have been a lesson APC should have learn. The main reason why they lost was their lawlessness and impunity nature of installing candidates (incompetent) on the Electorates as against their wish. 

Bauchi Federal Constituency has since 1999 remain the deciding factor who may emerge as Governor because of their voting population and the city metropolitan nature.The raised of Hon Shehu Aliyu Musa (Barden Gabas) to represent the good people of Bauchi Federal Constituency has been rated as the best choice ever made by the electorates within the city centre and their inability to return him to the green chamber in 2019 has equally been rated as their costly mistake in contrast. This is man who has led Constituency for the first time with a very good heart and his viable representation paved way for solid federal government interventions in health, Education, Agriculture , Empowerment, employment opportunities and portable drinking water within the period he served as federal lawmaker.

Transformational leadership theory is used in this article to explain the relationship between political achievement and leadership style of the Nigerian political class who’s actions and inactions in governance has direct bearings on our societal and environmental decadence. Bass and Alvolio’s transformational leadership model is used in this context to demonstrate the yet to be identified leadership potentials of Barden Gabas ,a man who have written his name bold and penned it in the wall of all and sundry that comes across him.

Leadership in Nigeria today has become a parrot cry both to the government who failed to give what they promised and the governed who only read about the promises from a distance on the pages of newspapers. This affirmative mentioned theory is very true but yet in most cases the Electorates has equally been identified as the architects of their own problems. Using Bauchi federal constituency as an example, anyone one that knows the very efforts made by Barden Gabas to make life more meaningful to his Constituency will stand to agreed and believes in this submission. He should have been given another chance to complete and sustain his rich ideas of ensuring that things get done for the overall interest of Bauchi Federal Constituency in 2019.

Hon Shehu Aliyu Musa (Barden Gabas) exceptional transformational leadership styles has motivated others to achieve more than what is originally expected of them through creation of  a political  space  conducive enough for Bauchi federal constituency citizens when he was elected member of the Federal House of Representatives in 2015.His programs of youths and women empowerment have created thousands of employment to youths/women who were trained and empowered through numerous skills acquisition programs in the Constituency. The costly mistake we made in the last election should not be the way to go and let the subsequent elections give us another opportunity to change the narratives by returning in this reliable, trustworthy and dependable gentleman to the National Assembly.

Barden Gabas has within short time of leaving the National Assembly has created a vacuum that has become very difficult to fill though Alhamdulillah that the said humble personality been elogissed by all card members of the All Progressives Congress and indeed Bauchi Federal Constituency are much alive to restore back the lost glory in 2023. The activities are on top gear and numerous well meaning citizens has started adding their voices with women and youths calling for him to reconsted again in the next coming elections.

Bauchi Federal Constituency has indeed become a crying chickens rolling on the dry sand without direction with their mouths widely open waiting for who to give water. This is because as population increase the number of graduates are equally on the raise and it is only good representation that can bring the over demanding of the Constituents to a bearest minimum.He has consistently maintain a very cordial relationship with the people of Bauchi federal constituency with and without power which spoke in high volume his love and admiration for the good people of Bauchi federal constituency and a time to start the journey is now .We can all testify the level of magnanimity and crowds that he always pull whenever he attends events be it political, condolences or weddings .

His unique attributes of saying little and achieving  much and his attitudes towards the people and his wide acceptability has been on the increase.Many have interacted with him both in the state and local levels ended up pencilling him always as material urgently needed to fix the overswellling Political landscape in Bauchi Federal Constituency. His good morals, quality leadership and family values have made Barden Gabas as an exceptional personality and a leader of the current generations.

A grass root politician, a community leader and friend to all,his respect for traditional institutions earned him “BARDEN GABAS” the traditional title from Bauchi Emirates bestowed on illustrious  sons of the soil who worked and has done remarkably well in community development. 

His advocacy and stands for a united Bauchi is well documented in the mind of right thinking sons and daughters of the soil who adhere to the Sardaunas , Tafawa  Balewas ,J.S .Tsarka ,Kashim Ibrahim ,Ziks , Awolowos among other notable leaders of the first republic that spent their entire life time in service to humanity. He has been a pillar and symbol of hope to many less fortunate, young generations and victims of our societal social vices.

His vibrant conversations on issues is centered around bringing his people together to eschew divisive tendencies of  ethnic, tribal, religion, regional and political divides. His endowed nature of speaking extensively on a number of topical national issues in the State has won him numerous awards of excellence from religious, regional, political, youths and students groups and associations in his home state of Bauchi and Nigeria as a whole. This is the true picture of the man Hon.Shehu Aliyu Musa (Barden Gabas) that all eyes are shining on to change once again the fortunes of Bauchi Federal Constituency come 2023.
