Gombe concern citizen and former A former Special Assistant to Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo on Youths Hon. Mohammed Julde Garkuwa has berated the plan by the current administration in the state to spent a whopping sum of 1.9bn to capture the aerial view.

Hon. Garkuwa made this disclosure today in Gombe in a media media briefing with Journalist. Our correspondent John Isaac reports that the Former Special Assistant to Governor Dankwambo described this move an ill-decision and a misplacement of Government priority considering the Economic hardship been face by the downtrodden.

It is so disheartening to see our resources been waste for some selfish reasons that could not benefit the masses, this is coming at a time when there are so many important aspects of the economy that could have direct bearing on the lives of the masses but we're neglected.

According to him,Governor Dankwambo successfully build, equipped, employed staff and offered admissions in the new Gombe State University of Science and Technology Kumo. He  commissioned it but to our greatest suprise, lack of Government Continuity and and political victimization of the current administration of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,, The school has been closed down immediately he took over in may 2019.

This is a Government that gave reasons for closing down the State owned University of Science and Technology built by his predecessor as due to lack of funds. He has said it repeatedly that the State  does not have money to run the school, this is a clear statement that the government does not place any importance to education in the state especially at higher level. If not, what is the rationale behind spending this huge sum of money on a mere snapshot?

Government has it that it will cost about 1.9 billion naira to snap the pictures which the same amount would have been used to run the school for almost four years or more,  this particular school was back borne of the governor's campaign promises to the people of Kumo and  he openly promised to sustain the school if voted in to power but failed to do that despite being in power now as the Governor of the State.

We see this and many other acts of the Governor Yahaya as an eye opener towards the 2023 general elections .Responsible Governments in a Democratic certain to which our State is not exception,if they deviate or faulter ,They expect ordinary citizens, the academicians and the Media to blow the whistle of warning and when responding, they do that constructively as they are not been above public criticisms.

This is a Government that does not have a listen air neither share the opinion of our people.Instead of taking corrections in most cases the Government give deaf ear and resort to unlawful arrest and detention of those opposing the unpopular policies of the government. This persistent arrest and detention of those who are considered as a critics as they Government may think will only cause them their popularity and even the seat a as whole because it is the people that has the mandate. He concluded.
