Time for Bauchi to Produce NANS President: 43 Years after.

National Association of Nigerian Students was formed in April 1978, Nigerian students were faced with the imposition of increased fees, and NANS participated in a series of Campus protests across the whole of Nigeria known as the Ali Must Go protests. The government responded by sending in the army and police, leading to the death or serious wounding of over twenty students. 

The history of Nigerian struggles is incomplete without the Nigerian students and National Association of Nigerian Students because it was the West African Students Union by Ladipo Solanke that kicked started the struggles for the Independence of African countries with Nigeria inclusive.

It is an unarguable discussion that such student Union body with high reputation and magnitude has lost the spirit of patriotism of an "Injury to one an Injury to all". This slogan stood wholeheartedly and defended the overall interest of the Nigerian students at all levels without leap service.

 The infiltration of the largest umbrella of students body in Africa by politicians has left many students future in danger as the leading comrades are gradually becoming complicit to the carnages these helpless students are confronted with. Students leaders emerge at the level of each campus known an as students Union Presidents who in turns converge for a National convention to determine the National students Leader known as NANS President.

Bauchi State is very strategic in the Nigerian politics as the history of Nigeria is incomplete without mentioning the likes of the first and only Nigerian Prime Minister Sir. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa of blessed memory. He was part and parcel of Nigerian Independence after a successful struggle for an independent nation Nigeria. Like the late Tafawa Balewa,The people's Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON (kauran Bauchi)  is a youths and students friendly Governor will in no doubt support the emergence of a NANS President from Bauchi State as the famous University of Technology named after the late Prime Minister ATBU Bauchi is presenting a Yusuf Lawal for the next President of National Association of Nigerian Students NANS.

Yusuf Mohammed Lawal currently running for the office of NANS President is a student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi of which His Excellency Kauran Bauchi is the host Governor. Comrade Yusuf Mohammed Lawal was a former President of the Students Union Government ATBU Bauchi and former Coordinator NANS zone A with countless Leadership positions both in different Youths organizations. Yusuf Lawal is indeed credible to change the narratives in NANS and with His Excellency the People's Governor who have been identified in Nigeria as the Youths and Students most friendly Governor.

He hosted the 2021 students international day held at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi and this speak the level , Commitment and passion of Kaura Bauchi in the area of Youths and Students Constituency.He is second to none and his contributions towards the upliftment of Youths and Nigeria singled him out of his contemporaries.
The Governor has Committed so much energy , resources and time in moving the students unions forward because his recent approval for the immediate disbursement of funds for the payment of scholarships to Bauchi State students spoke in high volume the Commitment of the Youths and Students Governor in moving the State and the nation forward.

To conclude this article,I am glad that Yusuf Lawal is under the cover and shade of the man who is able to change the ugly narratives of Bauchi State I less than two years and certainly 43 years history of NANS without the mighty Bauchi Mightily Bauchi State having one has come to an end. Comrade Yusuf Mohammed Lawal is an MSc student of Environmental Management Technology (EMT) will certainly has to move from
Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto and Zamfara to ganner support. He is very credible and competent enough to take lead the body of NANS but moving round the 36 States will in no doubt need the critical Stakeholders to key in and our part we have a father and a leader of all.The financial burdens that will lead to success require the extension of a hand of friendship of our amiable Governor (Kaura Bauchi).
 
 This will go down in history that for the first time Bauchi State is producing the President of National Association of Nigerian Students and posterity will certainly judge His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON well while history will in no doubt be kind to him for supporting this loudable crusade.

Comr. Auwal Suspended from office as National President,Yobe State Students.

The National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS) has announced the suspension of its national President Comr. Auwal Gambo Salisu with immediate effect due alleged blackmail, bribery, corruption and money laundering. In a letter signed by the Rt. Hon. Abdulaziz Maina Isa , the speaker of the Yobe State Students Representatives Assembly and the clerk of the Assembly Comrade Yusuf Lusa (CP) and made available to newsmen in Damaturu. The suspension has the endorsement of the two third majority of the members of the Students Representatives Assembly, National Union of Yobe State Students NUYOSS. They statement barred the suspended President from the premises of the Union untill further directives while investigations are ongoing for the period of two weeks which the said leadership will issue further directives on the matter in question. Plateau North Re-rerun: Parties await Tribunal Judgement

Yakubu H. Ruba SAN Lead Counsel for the Petitioners The Petitioners approached the tribunal challenging the declaration of Dachungyang Pam Mwadtkom or 2nd Respondent by INEC (1st Respondent) as the winner of the rerun election. The main ground upon which the petition is predicated is that the 2nd Respondent as of the time of the election, was not qualified to contest the election having allegedly presented a forged certificate to 1st Respondent (INEC). The Petitioners are alleging that the 2nd Respondent in Form EC9 deposed that he obtained FSLC in 1975 and SSCE in 1982.
