2023: Umahi Posters Flood Bauchi,Gombe and Maiduguri Major streets.

Posters of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State has flooded major Streets of Bauchi,Gombe and Maiduguri States in North East Nigeria ahead of the 2023 Presidential elections.

The posters with pictures of both and inscription such as Dave Umahi the Face of National Unity  were spotted in strategic locations across the state. This is coming at the time the South East region is clamouring for Power shift to the region.

The posters were around the popular Airport road roundabout, which connects to Maiduguri road and leads to Bauchi Emir Palace in Bauchi State. They were also seen at places like Maiduguri round About in Gombe, Murtala Muhammad way and  Maiduguri club roundabout.Independence way roundabout, among others. 

Political observers in Bauchi ,Gombe and Borno State have been muting the idea of South East preparation to take over power in 2023 amidst agitations for secession by some segments of the country and the South East inclusive.

Leaders of the alliance group known as Umahi Unity Network for Better Nigeria 2023, Sani Danaudi Mohammed told journalists that they endorsed the candidature of the Umahi  for a united and better Nigeria. We believe that if power rotates to the South, Umahi is best placed to unite, heal and inspire our great nation.

We also firmly believe that Umahi’s antecedents as Governor of Ebonyi make him the perfect Southern  Presidential candidate. One who will advance and protect the interests of a Nigeria plagued by poverty and insecurity. Even though Umahi is yet to make any formal declaration and intention to vie for the Presidency but he remains the best candidate so far from the South.

This is an attention calling and we doing this independently because despite the tensions in the South East region. Umahi has done more than enough to carry along all tribes and religion together in Ebonyi State particularly the Hausa Community in Ebonyi State. This is a replica of the spirit of oneness and Unity in deversity among the ecthnic nationalities of Nigeria that cuts across all tribes and religion.

 This is what he stood for as Governor of Ebonyi State and to this end no one will through this rare opportunity to make Nigeria better for all as 2023 General elections draws near. In the next two weeks we are doing same in the South region of the country after North West and North Central.He said.

Comr. Auwal Suspended from office as National President,Yobe State Students.

The National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS) has announced the suspension of its national President Comr. Auwal Gambo Salisu with immediate effect due alleged blackmail, bribery, corruption and money laundering. In a letter signed by the Rt. Hon. Abdulaziz Maina Isa , the speaker of the Yobe State Students Representatives Assembly and the clerk of the Assembly Comrade Yusuf Lusa (CP) and made available to newsmen in Damaturu. The suspension has the endorsement of the two third majority of the members of the Students Representatives Assembly, National Union of Yobe State Students NUYOSS. They statement barred the suspended President from the premises of the Union untill further directives while investigations are ongoing for the period of two weeks which the said leadership will issue further directives on the matter in question. Plateau North Re-rerun: Parties await Tribunal Judgement

By: John Ephraim The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal holding at Bauchi in the matter of rerun election into the office of senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for Plateau North Senatorial District held on 3rd February, 2024 on Friday, reserved judgement in the petition filed by Yakub Muhammad Shafiu and his NNPP against INEC, Dachungyang Pam Mwadtkom, ADP. Yakubu H. Ruba SAN Lead Counsel for the Petitioners The Petitioners approached the tribunal challenging the declaration of Dachungyang Pam Mwadtkom or 2nd Respondent by INEC (1st Respondent) as the winner of the rerun election. The main ground upon which the petition is predicated is that the 2nd Respondent as of the time of the election, was not qualified to contest the election having allegedly presented a forged certificate to 1st Respondent (INEC). The Petitioners are alleging that the 2nd Respondent in Form EC9 deposed that he obtained FSLC in 1975 and SSCE in 1982.
