ANFS trained Females Students on Creativity,Self sufficiency and Leadership in Imo State.By; Uchenna.

The Vice President of the Students Union Government (SUG) Federal Polytechnic Nekede who also double as the Imo State Coordinator of Association of Nigerian Females Students (ANFS) 
Comrade Ezugwu Christiana  O(SmartV)  has organised a Students Resiliency Summit/Ladies Day that has in attendance the students of the institution held at 1000 capacity auditorium. 

Briefing journalist shortly after the interactive session organised for Females Students aimed at impacting positively on the life of the students ,The State Coordinator ANFS Imo State and the vice President of SUG Federal Polytechnic Nekede told our correspondent Uchenna Ezu in Owerri that they have taking now a challenge upon themselves to stand up against all ill-fated issues bordering Females Students and Women in General.

She said ,the Program was tagged "BEYOND THE PANDEMIC; RISE AND LEAD " is designed to change the perception of the females Students on how to be self sufficient especially with the current economic meltdown caused by covig-19 pandemic in Nigeria and the world in General. As leaders of today and tomorrow ,we must start doing something now so that our female students will not turn vulnerable tommorow due to the increasing gender inequality in both employment and training of leaders for tomorrow.


Prominent personalities at the event includes the Head of ICT Forum for African Women in Education (FAWEN) Dr. Mrs Ijeoma Emeagi Presented a paper on a topic *Moral Excellence and Integrity* aimed at encouraging the female Students to put in their best in the Educational pursuit so that they become wold leaders tommorow . She said Women must raise up through good morals to build their future for greater tomorrow both in leadership as entrepreneurs.

The Rector Engr.Dr. Michael Arimanwa led the school management team where he emphasis on the need for the students to raise above the challenges of today and prepare themselves for leadership in the future. Dr. Michael said , Leadership requires a lot of discipline and sacrifice and urge them to ensure for better tomorrow.In separate remarks theHead of Directorate of Female Youths Honourable Mrs Osunde Amaka said they are Heralding the rise of purposeful leaders and encourage the Nigerian youths must set the pace. 

The Senior Special Advicer on students affairs to His Excellency Hope Uzodinma Executive Governor Imo State Hon. Franklyn Oparaji spoke on the need to support the females Students and women in general on issues as its relates to the notion of leadership and encourage to Focus more on ensuring that they the get the best while in school to graduate with flying colours.Others who attended includes  the wife of the Rector Engr. Dr. Mrs Joan Arimanwa, The President of SUG Comrade Ambassador Eze Chukwuebuka Ebenezer, Director of Finance Comrade Eze Orji E, Director of Transport Comrade Ajah Wisdom and other dignitaries as well as members of the press.

The event ended up with the presentation of awards to some personalities who have been contributing to the growth and development of women in one way or the other after a glaring remarks on *Maximizing Relationship in the Pandemic for productivity* by Mr Law Joshua CEO Vax Growth Limited .There was also at the event an Essay competition that is aimed to throw challenge of good communication skills for the challenges ahead .The State Coordinator also acknowledged the efforts and elugised the leadership of their National President Comrade Sylvia Sarki who she said have been up and doing to give the  Association it deserves. This program was designed to encourage them and we brought the Essay competition with the aim to eradicate the decades notion of thought that School is Scam.She concluded.
