LOVE IS THE GREATEST WEAPON OF UNITY: DALUNG

From: Ahmed Abubakar ,19/07/2020

In continuation of his advocacy for one indivisible and one indesolvable country Nigeria ,The former minister of youths and sports development Solomon Dalung (Garkuwan Arewa) has taken his official Facebook page to call for unity among the nation ethnic nationalities by showing you love . The former minister has consistently remain a symbol of unity in diversity and a face that describe the unity of the entire northern Nigeria and the replica of late Sardauna of Sokoto .

Dalung said,My lifestyle may not be appealing to you but then I pursue things that gives me pleasure and refrain from what creates pains. Somebody’s food may be another man’s poison.  I believe that human beings are created equal and we are what we are by virtue of opportunity. There’s nothing that make meaning to me in life except service to humanity. If we all can take life easy the way some of us do then this world would be a better place for all of us.

He stressed that,Daily I reflect on the irony of life, despite how hard you worked and no matter your wealth, nothing will accompany you to the grave. Interestingly, what you will wear when you are dead will be what you did not worked for or even have not seen. So what’s the essence of all the hustling in life?

He make qouatations from the Holy Bible saying that ,he had realised that the secret of peaceful life is to love humanity unconditionally because that is the greatest temptation of creation. The Bible says “how can you love God whom you have not seen but hate your fellow human being you see always...? .Meaning that faith in God begins with the love of His image and likeness, Since God said, “let Us create man in Our image and likeness". It then means man is the image of God here on earth and loving your fellow human beings is the definition of faith. I have decided that hate is too much a burden I cannot bear, I rather chose love.

He further explained his love Muslims and non Christians as my neighbours because that is Christianity. “Love your neighbour like yourself..” is the spiritual injunction. Even though many considered obeying these injunctions optional. It’s however ungodly, immoral or even callous to hate a fellow human being merely because of faith differences. May I asked what is the crime being only different with you in language, race or faith? What role did we played in becoming who we are today?

He portrayed the danger facing the country as a result of mismanagement and misinterpretation of these faiths saying; There is a dangerous trend unfolding in our faith system. It beats my imagination how to reconcile the horrible developments obtainable in our religious practices. All forms of immortality, hatred, bigotry and violence is the dominant tradition promoted by most of the custodians of our religious institutions.

Dalung added that as part of the solutions There’s urgent need for social reorientation in our country. Our mindset is fixated to materialism instead of humanity. Hatred is more of religion of a sort, ethnicity is like the new justice system. While hypocrisy represents the way of life. With these well entrenched in our social system, of course, corruption, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and all forms of violence will occupy national discourse.
The only solution to all these is love, peace and social justice to all manner of people without regard to their backgrounds. The greatest weapon is love because love cover a multitude of evil. Wish you all a peaceful life full of love for humanity.

He concluded by sending his best wishes to Nigerians on as the mark yet another Sunday.
