Now that Gov. Yahaya Bello has spoken:comr. Danaudi
COVID-19 has been declared a deadly disease around the globe by World Health Organization WHO having killed thousands around the world with hundred of lives lost in Nigeria from over 3500 cases so far . Fighting this Pandemic in Nigeria has become a humanitarian issue ranging with some states Governors been accused along the NCDC for doctoring and manufacturing of figures for economic benefits .We have seen how some Nigerians were protesting their quarantined in NYSC orientation camp in Mangu local government of Plateau State and in less than a week Gombe COVID-19 patients took the major high way to protest what they called complete negligence by the Gombe State COVID-19 task force . In a video that went viral,they said there is no single Doctor that attend to them despite been declared positive of COVID-19 while some accused the NCDC of not producing any result to prove that they are victims of the virus.
The controversies trailing the fight of this Pandemic in Nigeria is doing more harm to nation than the virus itself which requires urgent Government attention . It took the grace of God for many Nigerians to believed that the virus exist in the first place especially . We have seen how a prominent Islamic scholar and leader of Izala group and with headquarter in Jos Sheirk Sani Yahaya Jingir in a Congressional prayer openly told his followers that this called COVID-19 is a scam and he don't believes such virus exist .it took the grace of God with the help of Security agents to stop him and many of his likes across the country to forcefully obeyed the quarantine law. We strongly believes from the doctorine of our faith that we should expect more Pandemic even worst than the Coronavirus but the manner it is been handle in Nigeria is generating a lot of concerns to all Nigerians .
We have seen the utterances of Gov. Wike who claimed in a national television AIT that federal government are playing politics with the fight of this Pandemic though I may not agree with Wike submission but should this argument continue to trail about the figures . Governors of Kogi and Cross Rivers states are having a dogmantic fights on what they called pressure from the NCDC to manufacture figures in their respective states .The sensitivity of the COVID-19 Presidential task force has sent many Nigerians into the forest of confusion on whether or not the COVID-19 Pandemic is exactly what we see in USA ,Italy , Spain , UK and China among other countries of the world . I write to draw the attention of the Gombe State Government and the NCDC on what Happened that led to the protest of some COVID-19 patients in Gombe State,so many were asking my credibility to do so with some of them saying ,why are we supporting the patients for claiming that drugs were not made available to them at the time the virus has no vaccine around the world but we quickly remind them of Mallam Nasiru El-rufai of Kaduna ,Sen. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi and Seyi Makinde of Oyo state among other over 400 discharged patients were equally victims but were treated .one don't need to waste his ink arguing over this because anyone on admission must be on the care of health personal which is not far away from treatment .
I am not celebrating Yahaya Bello either for his actions and words he used on this committee sent to Kogi state by the federal government but I am glad that he has exposed the long accused shaddy deals happening behind the doors on the fight of this Pandemic in Nigeria .The lockdown policy of both state governments and the federal government need urgent review because it is confusing that markets are partially allow to operate four hours like in my State of Bauchi while a 10-15 minutes prayers is denied . These among many of such decisions of the Government are some of the reasons that ended up creating a circle of confusion in the minds of their followers which need to be address to end this feud between the govenment and the governed .
Finally ,I heard that the Governor of Kogi has asked the committee to be quarantine for 14 days and they run out of the state against their earlier scheduled which is an indication that his earlier statement that he is under pressure to declare Kogi state a COVID-19 state is gradually coming up .The authorities must stop playing politics with the lives of their citizens because once the average Nigerians paying the supreme price of the govenment decision understands that there are ongoing controversies between even the authorities themselves then it will be a bombshell for them to handle .May our living God continue to protect us against this COVID-19 while we pray for the government to continue doing the needful in their quest to deal with this pandemic Ameen.
